Navy plans (temporary) Return to Cecil Airport

The Navy’s temporary move from Naval Air Station Jacksonville to Cecil Airport is taxiing its way to liftoff, with the official roll out of the project that will begin next month. The Navy plans to bring about 50 fixed-wing aircraft and about 2100 personnel to Cecil starting in May, while the runway is repaved, the concrete in the end caps is replaced, the runway is extended and the lighting is upgraded to LEDs. NAS Jax Air Show Birthplace of the Blue Angels October 25 & 26, 2014 Gates open at 9 a.m. Show begins at 10 a.m. The Blue Angels will perform at 3 p.m. Free parking, admission and Kid’s Zone!
