Healthy Town project has a new name

After a months-long competition, Peter Rummell’s Healthy Town development on the Southbank has a new name. Out of more than 1,000 entries, the team behind the project have picked the name “The District — Life Well Lived — Jacksonville” for the project, which is slated to be built on land now owned by the JEA. The District is designed to promote the health of its residents, with things like “Base Camp” as an alternative to the traditional planned community’s clubhouse. Local design firm, Wakefield Beasley & Associates, has been chosen for The Jacksonville Landing redevelopment. Andrew Thurlow Reporter- Jacksonville Business Journal In the end, the local aspect of design firm Wakefield Beasley & Associates and Urban Design Associates of Pittsburgh was the deciding factor in being selected to plan the redevelopment of the Jacksonville Landing.
