What exactly is a Beauclerc?

Along San Jose Boulevard north of Sunbeam Road begin two older, more established communities: Beauclerc (pronounced Bo-claire) and San Jose. The drive through these neighborhoods is one of the city’s most scenic, with large mature trees and some of Jacksonville’s most notable landmarks along the way. Beauclerc Road is a desirable location, extending out to the St. Johns River and lined with stately trees, as is most of Beauclerc.
